A Little About Me
I’m Louise, a career coach who helps people make sense of where they are, understand what they have to offer and feel more confident about what comes next.
My background spans learning and development, training, facilitation and coaching across New Zealand and internationally. I’ve worked with people at many different stages of their careers — from young people making their first big decisions to experienced professionals navigating change, redundancy, promotion or a completely new direction.
My approach is practical, encouraging and highly personalised. I’ll ask the questions that help you think differently, uncover the strengths you may be overlooking and turn uncertainty into clear, achievable next steps.
How does career coaching work?
Career coaching gives you the space, structure and support to work out what you want — and what to do next.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, considering a career change, facing redundancy, thinking about study or promotion, or simply questioning whether your current role still fits, we start by understanding you.
Together, we explore your strengths, values, interests, experience and priorities, then turn those insights into realistic career options and practical next steps.
Through guided conversations, reflective exercises and targeted research, you’ll gain greater clarity, confidence and direction — with a plan that feels achievable and genuinely right for you.
Already know what you want — but need help getting there?
You may not need full career coaching. You might simply need focused support with one part of your job search.
I can help you:
create a targeted CV and cover letter for a specific role
prepare thoroughly for an upcoming interview
identify and approach employers directly
strengthen your job-search strategy
position your experience and strengths more confidently
The aim is simple: to help you stand out, communicate your value and move forward with confidence.

“My son … was withdrawn and doubting himself, the change in him is amazing. He is now thinking about his future” — Janine
What they will leave with:
A much clearer understanding of their strengths, skills, interests and natural abilities
Greater awareness of what matters to them and the kind of work and environment they may thrive in
3–5 career or study directions that genuinely fit who they are
A broader understanding of the career options available to them
Experience researching careers rather than simply relying on a career test or online search
The confidence and tools to have real-world career conversations with people working in areas that interest them
A practical action plan outlining the next steps they can take after the programme
Greater confidence in making future study and career decisions — without feeling they have to have their whole life figured out
And we measure the difference:
Participants complete the same confidence check-in at the beginning and end of Empower Youth, allowing us to measure changes in their confidence, self-awareness and career knowledge.
Based on pre and post programme self assessments from 30+ Empower Youth participants:
100% increased their confidence in making decisions about future study or career.
97% developed a stronger understanding of their strengths, skills and natural abilities.
93% increased their knowledge of the career options available to them.
Across all four measures of career confidence and clarity, the average participant score increased from 5.3/10 before the programme to 8.3/10 afterwards.
The goal isn’t for your teenager to leave Empower Youth knowing exactly what they will do for the rest of their life.
It is for them to leave knowing themselves better, understanding their options, and feeling far more confident about how to take their next step.

Most career programmes for teens use a one-size-fits-all model:
Take a test
Get a report.
Have someone tell your teen who they are and what they should do
But if you’ve ever tried that approach, you know it doesn’t stick — because it doesn’t feel like theirs.
Empower Youth is different.
We don’t put teens in a box. We help them break out of one.
Over five powerful weeks, your teen is guided to:
Discover who they are — in their own words
Build confidence and clarity — without pressure or judgement
Explore career options and real-life pathways that align with their strengths, values and interests
Take meaningful action toward their next step
This isn’t about telling your teen what to do.
It’s about giving them the tools, space and support to figure it out for themselves — and feel proud of the direction they choose.
Because when teens own the process, the confidence sticks.
And that changes everything.Empower Youth gives your teen around six hours of guided coaching, personalised reflection between sessions, professional profiling tools and real world career exploration. With a maximum of four participants, there is time and space for every young person to be heard, challenged and supported.
