Career coaching & guidance for teens in NZ

“The Empower Youth programme has had a significant impact on my daughter. Through this program, Louise was instrumental in helping her make one of the most important decisions of her life. My daughter started with Louise having no clue what she wanted to do in her future and has now come out of this program with a new-found passion in her life. I’m incredibly relieved and thankful of the work Louise did in building the steps for a bright future for Lily.” - Mark

Help Your Teen Discover Who They Are and What’s Next

In just five weeks, your teen will go from uncertainty to clarity—starting with a blank page and finishing with a clear sense of who they are, what matters to them and which career paths align with their strengths, interests and values.

This isn’t about handing them answers. It’s about drawing them out. Through expert coaching, guided self-discovery and real-world conversations, they’ll uncover their own direction with confidence and purpose.

Week 2 – "What Are You Great At?"
Leverage strengths profiling to show teens how much talent they already have. (“I’ve never stopped to look at myself—this has been really helpful.” - Gus)

Week 3 – "What Matters to You?"
Define values and what gives life meaning. Getting to know what’s important to them. (“I learnt what I value and how I want to help and make a difference” - Lee)

Week 4 – "What Could You Do?"
Identify 3–5 strong career options that align with who they are. (“Helped me gain more confidence in my potential career options and realising it’s possible for me to work in the career field I’m interested in” - Linkin)

Week 5 – "Step Into Real Careers"
Take action: Speak to at least one person working in a chosen field and complete research into their preferred career choices. This builds real‑world confidence and communication skills—by week 5 they’re ready to have career conversations with composure and clarity. (“I believe in myself more, in the beginning I didn’t know anything about myself and my options, I know myself better now and I have options of careers I can choose” - Julia)

This process works - every time!

  • Teens already hold the answers inside—they just need the space and questions to uncover them.

Through the course, they are guided through reflective questions, personality profiling, strengths and interests surveys to help them build their own choices. No longer based on guesswork - using cutting-edge tools to guide career decisions.

They are held accountable throughout the process and you are supported too, with guidance on how to support them through the 5 week journey and beyond.

  • Most career programmes for teens use a one-size-fits-all model:

    • Take a test

    • Get a report.

    • Have someone tell your teen who they are and what they should do

But if you’ve ever tried that approach, you know it doesn’t stick — because it doesn’t feel like theirs.

    Empower Youth is different.

We don’t put teens in a box. We help them break out of one.

Over five powerful weeks, your teen is guided to:

    • Discover who they are — in their own words

    • Build confidence and clarity — without pressure or judgement

    • Explore career options and real-life pathways that align with their strengths, values and interests

    • Take meaningful action toward their next step

This isn’t about telling your teen what to do.

It’s about giving them the tools, space and support to figure it out for themselves — and feel proud of the direction they choose.

Because when teens own the process, the confidence sticks.
    And that changes everything.

While most teens get just 30 rushed minutes with their college career adviser, Empower Youth gives them around six hours of guided sessions plus personalised homework - they get time, tools and personal attention in a group of only four, to actually figure out what they want — and the confidence to go after it.

“Both of my late-teen sons have completed the 'Empower Youth' program with Louise and found it invaluable. Learning their strengths, passions and talents through Louise's coaching has given them confidence to move forward on their chosen career pathways. The boys especially appreciated the practical help Louise offered in writing a strong CV, assisting with enrolment administration and using her contact network to help find them work experience and connections within industry.” - Andrea
